Everyone knows that great images sell destinations and experiences. This is particularly true if you are attracting visitors through your website.

The Northern Territory Government has initiated a useful program by providing $100,000 for NT based tourism operators to update their photography.

Each eligible and approved tourism operator will receive a photo shoot of up to three hours duration. The goal is to supply ten high quality images for use in marketing material.

Ownership and use of images will be shared by both the tourism operator and Tourism NT. This provides an additional benefit to the individual operators. They receive beautiful images to help boost their website and other marketing. At the same time, images of their accommodation or tours are being showcased in State tourism destination marketing.

To be supported through this program, businesses must have a significant tourism focus operating within the Northern Territory. They must also have a current ATDW (Australian Tourism Data Warehouse) listing or be in the process of registering one.

The business will be required to upload these images onto their ATDW listing within two weeks of receiving them.

This is a great opportunity for NT tourism businesses! We can’t emphasise enough the importance of compelling images in attracting custom.
