Searches on your Website
This article is about searches conducted once visitors are on your website.
Setting up Search. Add the Search widget to your sidebar to allow visitors to search for information on your website.
Tracking Searches. Searches on your website are tracked so you can find out who is searching for what. Use Dashboard, Searches to review. If you see searches that aren’t getting results, you may want to consider creating a new page or post to make sure future searches do get a result.
Google Site Search. Google offer facilities to add site search to your website. In general, we don’t recommend you do this. If people use Google Search within your website, they will also see ads. If Google is doing its job well, those ads will promote competitive websites with products and services relevant to what they are searching for. Not the best idea.
Plugin Attribution: To track searches on OM4 sites, we use a customised version of the excellent Search Meter plugin from Bennett McElwee.
