Membership
OM4 supports two different membership related plugins.
Members Only Plugin
The Member Only plugin allows any OM4 website to restrict access to those users who have a login.
To use, activate the plugin, then use Dashboard, Settings, Member Only and tick the box to restrict logins to members only.
You can choose to redirect visitors who aren’t logged in to the login page or to another page.
Simple Membership Site: Membership sites sometimes create an email sign up page, inviting visitors to join the email list and find out more about the benefits of membership. Once members choose to join (which you manage via the email lists), you can assign them a login and they can access to the rest of the website.
Restricted Access during Development: This plugin can also be used during development when only registered users may visit the website. Note if your site is live and you just want to restrict access temporarily while you are conducting maintenance, you can use the Maintenance Mode plugin.
Membership
OM4 clients with a standalone website may elect to use the Membership plugin by WPMUDev.
This plugin allows you to establish membership levels, assign areas of your site to membership levels and automate sign up, renewal & cancellation processing.
Access can be assigned by membership level to the following types of content: Downloads, Categories, Pages, Posts, Comments, ‘More’ tags, Galleries
Memberships subscriptions, integrated with PayPal, can be established as follows:
- Offer free memberships that turn into paid subscriptions after x days
- Finite or indefinite subscriptions
- Serial renewing subscriptions
- Subscriptions that renew every 5, 10, 30, 90 etc. days
Other Membership Options
OM4 supports a number of clients with membership sites that utilise the aMember plugin. The Membership plugin from WPMUDev offers improved integration with WordPress and similar subscription options.
