How To Resolve Problems with Internet Explorer

Are you having problems with a website and you are using Internet Explorer?

Here is a checklist to help fix problems yourself. And if necessary, how to ask for help.

Are you running an up to date version of Microsoft Windows?

Microsoft may have published updates for your version of Windows that fixes known problems. So first of all make sure you have applied available updates.

Are you running an up to date version of Internet Explorer?

Remember you have the option of using Safari, Firefox or Google Chrome as your web browser instead of Internet Explorer.

If you are using Internet Explorer V6, it is definitely time to upgrade to a newer browser: Moving the World Off Internet Explorer 6

To apply Windows updates, open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Update. In the left pane, click Check for updates. If any updates are found, click View available updates. Make sure the Internet Explorer updates that you want are selected, and then click Install. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Still Having Problems?

If you are running an OM4 website with an up to date version of Windows and Internet Explorer and you are still having problems, please raise a support ticket. In your ticket, please advise:
- the version of Windows you are running (report the full version number)
- the version of Internet Explorer you are running (the full version number – see below)
