You can create as many web pages as are reasonably required for your OM4 website.

  1. Under Manage, Pages, find the page your want to edit and click the Edit button
  2. Edit the page content and click the Publish button (first time) or Save button (subsequently
  3. You can click the View button for the page to view how it looks
  4. You can set the page slug / permalink and other Advanced Options

Creating Web Pages

  1. Under Manage, Pages, click on the Create a New Page text link at the top of the page.
  2. Enter a Page Title and Page Content. You can format the content by selecting text and using the edit bar to apply formatting such as Bold or Italics, to create links, and to create numbered or bulleted lists.
  3. While still creating your page, scroll down to the Uploads section to upload images, PDF files or other content to your website. Once uploaded, you need to create a link to the image, PDF or other content by using the Send to Editor button. There is more detailed information on how to do this.
  4. Click the Publish button at the bottom of the Page Content field to save and publish the page.
  5. Set Advanced Options if required.

Your web page is now created. See below for how to make it appear in your website.

Use Manage, Pages to View, Edit or Delete your page.

Automatically display pages on your site

To automatically display pages on your website when you create them, add the Pages widget to you sidebar

Pages Widget. Use Design, Widgets and add the Pages widget into you sidebar. Click on the configuration button on the Pages widget to:

  • set the heading that appears in your sidebar
  • exclude certain pages by entering their Page ID

Manually add pages to your site menu

Your OM4 website has a menu bar below the header. To add any page to the menubar, use Design, Site Design and scroll down to the menu section. Enter each menu item as a new line. The two examples below show alternative ways to create an entry for your About page. One alternative uses an absolute address, the other uses a relative address:

  • <a href=”http://yoururl.com/about/”>About</a>
  • <a href=”/about/”>About</a>

Manually add pages as links from other pages

You can add a page as a link from any of your web pages.

  1. Under Manage, Pages, find the page you want to link to and View it. Copy the page URL to your clipboard using your computer’s Copy function.
  2. Under Manage, Pages, find the page you want to link from and click Edit
  3. Select the text you want your site visitor to see and click on the Link button in the Page Content toolbar. If using the Visual Editor, this appears as a small chain link.
  4. Once the link popup window appears, use your computer’s Paste function to paste the URL. Add a descriptive link Title to assist visually impaired visitors to your website. Save the link.
  5. Save the changes to your page

The link will now appear as a hyperlinked text when you view the webpage.

Combine the Menu Bar and Sub Pages widget

One way to manage websites with a lot of web pages is to use the Sub Pages widget.

Using this approach:

  1. use the Page Parent setting for each page to define main pages (no parent) and sub pages
  2. add the main pages to your menu bar
  3. add the Sub Pages widget to your sidebar to automatically display the sub pages for the current main page

When the user navigates to any page with sub pages, the Sub Pages sidebar widget automatically displays all the sub pages.
