Edit Own Page

We have prepared a plugin that allows you to offer pages on your OM4 website that can be edited by a page owner. This article describes the one off steps required to set it up for the first time.

Note this plugin currently requires an OM4 website for it to work properly – we’ll see if we can publish an open version that works on any WordPress site in the future.

Using this plugin you can:

  • create a programme that lets members sign up for their own page on your website
  • you can offer this service for free, or you can charge a one off or monthly recurring fee to use this
  • once members sign up, you can easily create a new page for members that lets them login and create/update the content for their own page (but no other pages on your website)

If you have put the effort into building a high authority website, you may find you have potential sponsors approaching you to get a presence. This plugin provides a way for you to do so. If you are charging for pages the plugin lets you configure any links from the Own Pages with the nofollow tag – this is the way Google likes to see things happen when you are offering paid links a website.

Examples of this kind of programme:

If you are charging a fee for pages that can contain links, you should configure the plugin to use the Nofollow attribute on links. Google doesn’t like it when paid links are included in a website without using nofollow.

Set up an Own Page user and test page

Time to set up a page for a test user so you can see how it all works on your site.
