Blubrry PowerPress Podcasting Plugin
These instructions describe how to use the Blubrry PowerPress Podcasting plugin.
To use this plugin on an OM4 website, an additional monthly administration and support fee applies. This is due to the size and complexity of the plugin. Please contact OM4 support for more information.
Plugin Activation/Configuration
Go to Dashboard → Plugins, and activate the “Blubrry Powerpress” plugin.
Once activated, the plugin’s settings can be accessed via Dashboard → PowerPress.
We recommend following the PowerPress Configuration Demo for help on how to configure the plugin.
The official documentation also contains a large amount of information on configuring and using the plugin.
Media File Storage Location
Please note that you must not store your podcast media (audio/video) files on OM4 servers. This means that you can’t upload the audio or video files using the WordPress media uploader.
Instead, we highly recommend storing and serving them from a Content Delivery Network (CDN) such as Amazon S3 or Amazon CloudFront. This will help ensure that your listeners are able to quickly download each episode.
Please contact OM4 support if you would like help setting up your CDN account/location.
Once your CDN location is set up, we recommend going to Dashboard → PowerPress → Settings → Basic Settings → Advanced Settings, and configuring the “Default Media URL” setting to point to your CDN location (eg http://d65rerqgd9z7y.cloudfront.net/episodes/).
PowerPress Help
If you need help with this plugin, we recommend consulting the following resources:

Plugin Conflicts/Incompatibilities
The Audio Player plugin can conflict with the PowerPress plugin.
In particular, the Dashboard → Settings → Audio Player → Advanced → Remove all enclosures from feeds setting must be unchecked. If this option is checked, PowerPress’ audio enclosures are removed from the RSS feeds (which means that iTunes will be unable to identify the audio file that is associated with each podcast episode).
