A Consulting Business Website for Board Business

Today we welcome Trish Ridsdale and Maria Quinn of Board Business to the web.

Trish and Maria are launching with a minimal design, which they may update in the near future. In the meantime they can get familiar with the WordPress interface and start to share their point of view through their blog.

For a consulting business, a website that shares a point of view and provides a clear overview of available services can be very effective. New and established businesses both benefit from a business website that helps validate a personal referral, serves as a lead generation tool and provides a simple way to get in touch.

Introducing Helix, from The Helix Project

Helix DanceJune 2011 sees the opening of HELIX, a new dance production at the Heath Ledger Theater in Northbridge.

The production is featured at a new website: Helix Dance

Featuring Daryl Brandwood, one of Australia’s most celebrated dancers, Helix is a groundbreaking work that marries original choreography, cinematography and state-of-the-art medical imaging technology.

Over the last few weeks we’ve had the pleasure of working with Choreographer Barry Moreland and Co-ordinating Producer Barry Strickland to put together the site.

The graphic design for this site comes from Nick Page of Creative Page, and he has done a fantastic job with a design that complements the striking production image shot by Ashley de Prazer.

Twilight Hawker Market launches in Perth

Last year Sally Lewis launched the Subi Farmers’ Markets, and they’ve gone from strength to strength.

This year (last week to be precise) Sally has launched the Twilight Hawker Market. The hawker markets will be held every Friday in the city from 5pm-8pm (she is down there right now, lucky Sally!)

Anyway, please visit Sally’s new page for the hawker market and give her plenty of positive feedback and link love – Perth needs lots more of what Sally is organising.

Physiology matters

Quick call out to a simple new site launched by Cindy Evans, an Exercise Physiologist. Having been through the unpleasant experience of a torn calf muscle, I thorougly recommend Cindy for her magic deep tissue massage and the Aparal massage unit she uses.

Wren Design Studio’s website

Recently we helped Subiaco based graphic designers, Wren Design Studio with their own website.

Wren Design PortfolioWren are a talented design studio based in Subiaco, Western Australia.

Wren developed the design concepts for their website, and OM4 implemented them. We also did some custom enhancements to our existing plugins.

The website’s portfolio pages are a simple and effective way of presenting their work. They use the image rotator effect, which was customised by OM4 to support next/previous navigation when hovering over the rotator.

The website also has a blog, which Wren Design Studio plan to use for case studies of their projects.

Wren Design Studio Slogan

The project also involved an email newsletter subscription form, as well as a custom show/hide effect for the ‘About’ and ‘Contact’ pages using jQuery.

We have previously worked with Wren Design Studio on the Terrastone website, and look forward to working with them on future projects.

Organic Herbs at home with Vegie Talk

Steve's Vegie Talk

Steve's Vegie Talk

Recently we had the pleasure of working with Steve and Audrey to help launch their new Vegie Bag website.

The concept is simple and effective – grow your own herbs and vegetables in a small vegie bag. Beautiful.

I can see there will be a lot of demand for this from budding master chef’s all around the country.

The website was designed by Becky Chilcot of Chil3. You can see an example of the attention to detail in the graphic for the Vegie Talk blog (see right) – a great invitation to a blog if ever there was one.

Can’t wait to see the orders start flowing.

Launching The Write Stuff Media

Launch Time: Norman Burns, The Write Stuff Media

On the topic of shout outs to new clients, I’d like to welcome Norman Burns to the stage with his new venture The Write Stuff Media.

The design is from Matt Leigh – a nifty interpretation of Norman’s obsession with all things Apollo related.

Norman has the skillz when it comes to PR and media communications. He knows the industry inside out, so if you are interested in PR for your business get in touch with him.

Photography for home decor

We are just starting work with Antigone Radunovich of House of Antigone who is launching a new range of home decor / home furnishings based on her photographic art.

A graduate of Curtin University in Perth (where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Design) and later the School of Visual Arts, New York (where she completed a Master of Fine Arts in Photography), Antigone is taking her distinctive photographs off the gallery walls and applying them to everyday objects for the home.

It is early days yet, and we are looking forward to a very distinctive design for her online store.

Have a look at her one page site here: House of Antigone.

Image Rich Design

Tiffany Wedding Chair Hire - Bride + Groom Store

Tiffany Wedding Chair Hire - from Bride + Groom Store

We are really enjoying working with Jemma & Tilopa from Bride+Groom Store. Their new website with integrated online store is well on the way, but in the interim we’ve helped them launch a niche website for their Tiffany wedding chair hire service where it will be easily found by people searching for wedding chairs in Perth!

The design is image rich – check it out: Chair Hire Perth.

If you aren’t into fashionable weddings and events, well, the Tiffany chairs that Jemma & Tilopa offer are the same chairs seen in Hollywood movies such as ‘Wedding Crashers’, ‘Bridal Wars’ and ‘The Wedding Planner’.

Check out the Contact page as well – just gorgeous.

Honey Ant Reading Program Assisting Indigenous Literacy

Get That Fat Perentie - Honey Ant Readers No 15

It is very early days, but we are very pleased to welcome Margaret James and her Honey Ant Readers program to the web.

Margaret is an educator based in Alice Springs. She has written a series of books designed to “assist Indigenous-language speakers (including Aboriginal English speakers) in Central Australia with their early print literacy learning”.

For now we’ve just launched a simple website with Margaret so people can find her online – we’re doing some more work with her on content and to produce a design to her brief. She has a lot of information to share.
